DOGS REHOMED...
Mia - 4 yo Rottweiler Bitch
Mia
came to us following a one off dispute with the Labrador that she has
lived with since they were both 8 weeks old. We believe this was due
to a phantom pregnancy which spaying will solve. Mia is currently
living with 3 labrador bitches, 1 rottie bitch and 1 rottie male without
any issues. She is a kind sweet natured girl who really just wants to
please.
She is good with kids and apparently cats. She can
be a little nervous when she first meets people but soon warms up to
them. If you already have another dog, we would recommend meeting and
then possibly a home trial. She would probably be fine with another
laid back dog though she might be best in a home on her own.
Mia is currently on home trial so fingers crossed for this special girl.
Lexi - 2yo Rottweiler Bitch
Lexi came to us because she wasn't getting on with a ten year old dog she was living with and her owner found this upsetting. We think she needs socialisation and pack leadership. She came from a very full house packed with kids.
She's a very laid back dog but will tell others to back away politely. Rocky an entire male we're fostering at the moment pesters her and she will warn him by showing her teeth, and then rumbling, and if he doesn't back off she'll snap. This is normal behaviour and Rocky is the one who needs to learn to respect her space.
She loves to charge chasing the other dogs barking as she goes, but she is also sensitive and if other dogs have a set to, Lexi disappears back home.
She's great in the house, really my kind of dog. If I head
into the kitchen to make a coffee or get a snack she stays on her bed
out the way. When sitting in the lounge she will come over for a fuss
and just sit beside you. Not fidgeting or licking, but enjoying the
attention, and the same if she's invited onto the sofa, and she does
need to be invited, she will curl up in a ball beside you and just enjoy
whatever fuss she gets.
Lexi has been on home trial and is due to be adopted this Friday 5th November.
Clio - 5yo Rottweiler Bitch
Cleo is a loving strong willed girl who knows what she does and does not want. She walks nicely on the lead, will sit, give her paw and lie down.
She is great around the livestock but is untested with cats and children although she recently enjoyed washing the feet of a young baby that visited recently, so would probably be ok with older dog savvy children.
Cleo gets along with most other dogs, but does not enjoy being pushed around by pushy dogs and can be dominant. She is happy to live inside or out, and if the weather is warm actually prefers to sleep outside.
Cleo is now settled into her new farm home and seems she has found her forever home.
Simba 2 yo Rottweiler Male
Simba
has a beautiful head and is a lovely natured dog. He does need to
build up some condition on his body but over time should beef up to be a
good looking boy. He spends all his time pursuing our collie and I
think that burns off all he eats (we have the same problem keeping
weight on our collie with him forever active on the farm) so we now
exercise him separately to the collie and he's on a 'build-up' diet. He
prefers to chase the other dogs chasing the ball rather than chase the
ball itself.
Simba has now settled into his new home which looks to be his forever home.
Saffy 7 month Rottweiler Bitch
She's a puppy. She's mischievous. She's learning. We've found her to be a bundle of joy. Eager to please but also pushing the boundaries and learning the rules. She's integrated well with our mixed pack but prefers to stay close to us rather than chase balls along way from us with the other dogs. She does short retrieves and it's fantastic to watch her play.
She's almost house trained and will wake you in the night to say she wants to go out, but if you don't get up, she'll happily squat where she is! A little more training will see her making it all the way through the night.
Saffy likes to chase shadows!
We quickly found to cover up the alarm clock at night otherwise
everytime I rolled over and my shadow moved, she'd bark at my shadow on
the wall! We find it in the lounge to. As we move to get comfortable,
she attacks our moving shadow!
UPDATE
- Now that Saffy has been with us for a little while, she's proving to
be a real character! She's always getting up to mischief, and as seen
in the picture above she found a sack of lambs milk and tucked in!
She's playing with the other dogs more and likes to get hold of the
ball before them if it's a short throw. Throw it too far and it's too
much trouble to run that far and the bigger dogs get there first
anyway. I can see Saffy potentially staying with us. She's just
adorable, and after all the training we're doing and cleaning up after
the accidents it would seem a shame to rehome her, so if you like the
sound of this lovely puppy, contact us fast before we decide not to let
her go!
UPDATE - Saffy is now in her new, hopefully, forever home and is already being adored!
Fat Rocky - 16 month Rottweiler Male
Rocky's a lovely lad but when he came to us he was still getting puppy food daily and lots of treats and so is b it overweight. Apparently he doesn't like exercise and gets tired quickly - we're not surprised! He needs less food and more work! We're getting a lot of 'Rocky's' at the moment and so we'll refer to him as Fat Rocky!
He's come from a family home with kids and gets on with other dogs in our pack. He's fully pet passported so this chubby chappy was evidently planning to travel.
He's at a foster home at the moment because we're a little bit full but if you'd like to know more do enquire about him.UPDATE - Fat Rocky, having been living with a foster home for a number of weeks, is fast becoming slimline Rocky and has found a new forever home!
Holly - 6yo Rottweiler Bitch
Holly’s a very laid back character. Bred by a friend of ours and fully papered, vaccinated and spayed, she's 6 years old. Available for rehoming through no fault of her own. She seems to have an indent above her left eye – not sure if the skull is deformed or whether she has experienced a knock in her life. But she is very laid back but also fully aware and responds to her name and comes when called, though her favourite pastime is lying on the sofa watching daytime tv. It’s amazing how long she can hold her bladder, quite often turning up her nose at the early morning walk and preferring to go later in the day.
Holly loves cuddles and fuss. She’d be ideal for someone older who doesn’t want to walk so often or someone who’s quite busy. She’s content to do her business in the garden and spend her time sleeping and the occasional walk around the block or to the shops would be a nice change of scenery for her. But she’s not one to need daily long walks – as long as you’ve got the time to snuggle up with her on the sofa and watch animal rescue programmes which appear to be her favourite!
She pays no real attention to the other dogs nor the farm animals. We don’t know how she would be with cats but going on her lack of interest in baby piggies, goats and lambs we imagine her attitude to cats would be the same. We’ve had quite a number of visitors to the farm both adults and children and Holly has enjoyed receiving fuss from everyone she can get to.
Holly’s taken to following me about now that it’s summer and all the doors are open. If I’m in the house she’s in there too. If I’m over in the farm office, again that’s where she’s to be found. And if I go across to the main house, Holly is stood there waiting when I return. She doesn't wander off, she just likes to be near you.
She’s most amusing on a walk. Now the sun is shining she’s much keener on coming for a walk with the rest of the pack. She doesn’t need a lead, she just walks beside us. And when we stop to watch the pack play or throw a stick, Holly likes to go to sleep in the grass until it’s time to move again.
Holly is due to go out on home trial shortly – watch this space!
UPDATE - Holly remains on home trial - we will update you if she is offered a forever home...
Rocky - 1yo Male Rottweiler
Rocky is doing well in his new home and is doing well.
Mya - 10yo Rottweiler bitch
Saved from being pts by the RSPCA after her owner passed away, we stepped in and took Mya on. She's now very settled in her new forever home.
